Family Travel to Atlanta

It really isn’t a secret that traveling with kids is a bit trickier than traveling alone. And sorry, it is just more expensive. But you can find some really awesome things to do with kids in cities that are within driving distance usually.

I started out 2019 making a travel bucket list. Something that I had never really done. I didn’t really care to write down places I wanted to go because y’all I was too busy to dream. This year that is changing.

And in my top ten was VISITING THE LARGEST AQUARIUM IN THE WORLD. I had no idea it was right here in the United States. The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. And it is the only institution outside of Asia to house whale sharks. How freaking cool is that? Um, really cool!

We also stayed in a fairly cool hotel. Hotel Clermont. It just reopened its door this past year and it didn’t disappoint. The beds were beyond comfy y’all. Even with kids you want a cool restaurant/bar for easy hangs: I will also say if you go to the brunch at Tiny Lou’s in the hotel get the bloody mary. IN-CRED-IBLE!

All the surrounding areas felt full of life. I loved all the cool urban walls. Near Krog Market we took some rad photos. All those colorful murals make for some fun sight seeing for FREE too.

We also visiting the Coca Cola Museum and I will say the Asia market had some tasty soda. I love that you get to try them at the end. (Although my husband is afraid of being sticky so he didn’t “stick” around those soda floors for long.)

The sky wheel we rode on made me want to pass out. I’m sorry but I’ll always be afraid of heights. I’m glad the kids enjoyed it though. HA!

And the best food/shopping plaza award goes to PONCE CITY MARKET. Sorry, Columbus you need to step up North Market to try to keep up with that place. The food, people, stores (yeah I bought a hat) were legit. Add it to your list if you’re going to Atlanta in the near future.

All in all my only gripe was that some restaurants weren’t super kid friendly menu wise but most of them made us plain things that the kids would eat. Columbus still wins easiest to travel with kids downtown but Atlanta my whole family was into you!
