finding light: When your sessions end up indoors

I used to freak out (a lot) anytime I had a client request an indoor session. Let alone having an outdoor session turn into an indoor session last minute. But I don't feel that way at all anymore. I actually really love indoor sessions. They don't have to look "dark" or "moody" because I don't understand artificial light. Once you learn some lighting basics, you can have light & clean indoor style too.

I have one flash on my camera and another off camera flash. Depending on where the natural light is I'll position around the family. I also try to block out the artificial lighting in the room. I think it's practicing too. Once you get your lights, just practice at home in all kinds of rooms. You'll find your style too!
